Having whacked some crocs and having found some loot, the party continues...

Vellum is unhappy about the effect the swamp will have on her boots.  She is also unhappy about the cleanliness of the rest of her clothes.

Through a break in the cypress trees, Vellum and Hydrazine spot orc dugouts and 5 guards.  It looks like a warcamp, and it looks like the orcs have been here for about 10 days... the same amount of time that the goblins have been hassling the town of Scrag's Bluff.  Compounding the situation, the crocodiles were between the orcs and the goblins - and the orcs and the town.

Get 'em!

The orcs take defensive positions... and get killed.  Leslie killed one with a death ray.

4000 xp / 7 = 572 each, 5852 total

Each of 5 orcs has a shiny platinum piece (= 100 gp ea) and some yucky coins totaling another 750 gp.

Returning to tow, we find a shortcut that leads much more directly to town.  On the way, Hydrazine comments:

There are a ''lot'' of wild silk spiders here.
