The reason is, the existence of the "Martial Weapon Proficiency, Single" feat, which allows classes without simple weapon proficiency to take a single martial weapon. Now, maybe we should tidy this up a bit, let me think about it.

Discussed this, we think the way forward is to remove all the current weapon proficiency feats (simple, martial single, martial weapons, and exotic) and replace them all with a single 'Advanced Weapon Proficiency' feat that allows you to use any weapon you want, at the cost of a single feat. Simpler, cleaner, better. We'd probably do the same thing for the two 'shield use' feats and the 'shield proficiency' feat, replacing them all with 'Advanced Shield Proficiency', and likewise with the three "Armor proficiency' feats, replacing them all with a single 'Advanced Armor Proficiency' feat. This is a lot of editing, but replaces ten feats with only three, so, nice. :) [[User:Tbolling|Tbolling]] ([[User talk:Tbolling|talk]]) 17:09, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
