Bashing (Shield Magic Property)
Enchant Cost: +1
A bashing shield deals +2 points of Base Weapon Damage when used to perform a shield bash. Base weapon damage is multiplied when you reach levels 8, 15, 22, and 29. It is also multiplied on a critical hit, as it is NOT bonus damage.
Only light and heavy shields can have this ability; Bucklers, War Shields, and Tower Shields may not.
Special: The bonus from this property, both the bonus to-hit and damage, stacks with the bonus provided by Spikes. Thus, a heavy shield with Weapon Spikes strikes with both bonuses. Further, if the Spikes are then enchanted separately as a weapon, these bonuses continue to stack. Note that a Shield can never be given weapon enhancements or weapon properties without Spikes.
- Creation: Creator (Feat), Bailiwick Check (DC 17), a languid remnant (tier 1), and an item symbolic of the enchantment.
