Expert's Wand of Maximization

CL 20 Magic Wand • Strong Enchantment
Cost: 256,000 gp
Weight: 0.6 lbs.
Family: Wand of Maximization

A wand of maximization (often called a Magnum Wand) is a thick rod of hearthwood, blackened in arcane flames until it achieves a tempered state of hardness. It is thicker than a thumb in diameter, and approximately 17 inches long. It bears no markings, sigils, or other distinctions. In short, it's prodigiously ugly.

Wands of maximization are favored among war wizards and combat sorcerers, who focus on blasting their foes with as much damage as possible, rather than finesse or any attempts at afflicting their foe with some condition less than a quick death. These wands are not for the subtle-minded, nor those who shy away from causing massive destruction in their wake.

An expert's wand of maximization grants the wielder the ability to apply the effects of the Maximize Spell (Feat) to any spell of any spell level, up to once per encounter, without increasing the spell level of the spell.

The wielder must already possess the Maximize Spell (Feat) to use this wand. Without the feat, the wand is unusable.

This magic item does not require an attunement period, and grants its benefits immediately upon being worn or wielded.

Creation: Creator (Feat), Bailiwick Check (DC 50 (10 + double CL)), Bright (tier 3) remnant, An item symbolic of the enchantment, 128,000 gp (minus cost of symbolic item).
