Condition Severity: Moderate
A Baffled creature takes a -6 penalty to INT, WIS and CHA. This is treated as Ability Damage, except that it is automatically recovered when this condition is removed, with no further ill effects. Furthermore, a Baffled creature's place in the initiative order immediately drops by 6. This initiative drop only occurs the first round the creature is baffled, but it is not restored when the baffled condition ends.
Note that a creature whose place in the initiative order is reduced cannot take an additional action in a round in which they have already acted. For example, if a creature takes its action on initiative 20, then is attacked and gains the Baffled condition on initiative 19 (and has its initiative reduced to a 14), it does not get to act again on initiative 14.
Furthermore, if a creature holding its action (or readying an action) has its initiative reduced, it may not act during any of the initiative ticks prior to its new initiative number. For example, a creature on initiative 20 holds its action. On initiative 19, it is attacked and gains the Baffled condition, reducing its initiative to a 14. The creature may not use its held action until initiative 14 or later.
