Originating as a farming tool used for reaping grain, this one-handed weapon has a blade with a strong curve that can easily catch an opponent's possessions and hook them back so that they are now your possessions. Its blade can be either smooth or serrated, and some fighting sickles are sharpened on both sides near the point, making it easier to hook into an opponent's flesh. Sickles have a strong 'magical' orientation as well, and are often ceremonial 'weapons' used in rituals or as magical Rods. These uses are not exactly common, but they are not rare, either. The Sickle belongs to the "Blades, Light" weapon group. |
