Saw Beetle Nymph
Saw Beetle Nymphs are the flightless young of Saw Beetles, although they can use their growing winglets to vault around in a disconcerting fashion. They are voracious and assume everything they encounter is edible. While the adults are omnivores, the rapidly growing nymphs need a great deal of protein. They are abysmally stupid and will attempt to eat creatures considerably larger than themselves. They seem incapable of distinguishing between carrion and live creatures that may fight back. Saw beetles live in forests, swamps, plains, deserts, and often infest ruins.
Combat Tactics
Saw beetles nymphs are voracious with a particular desire for meat. As a result, they immediately close the range and try to start eating.
Out of Combat
Saw Beetle Nymphs are typical monstrous vermin, although their carnivorous diet means they are more likely to attack civilization than others of their ilk. Monstrous butterflies, for example, are a hazard only to the birds that try to eat them. Completely mindless, saw beetles are usually hunted to extinction as soon as they are discovered as a matter of public safety.
