Essence Suppression

Condition Severity: Weak
Your memories, ambitions, and very life essence have been stolen from you, stripping away at your core being.
Effects
- Essence Suppression cuts away at the things that make you you. For each point of Essence Suppression you sustain, you must choose one of the following of your existing abilities:
- a feat
- a class feature (this can be anything you gained due to leveling up in one of your character classes, including a rogue talent, fighter tactic, rage power, or a fixed ability, such as sneak attack, defender of the faith, etc.)
- a level of spells you are able to cast (or all spells of a particular level that you have memorized)
- a greater racial trait
- You lose the use of this selected feat, class feature, spell level, or racial trait, until the essence suppression has been cured.
- You do not lose the use of other abilities which weren't stripped away by essence suppression (or one of the other essence damaging conditions, namely omission or destruction), even if you have lost one or more of the prerequisites of those abilities. That is, if you have Dodge (Feat), Mobility (Feat), and Spring Attack (Feat), and lost the use of Dodge, you could still use Mobility and Spring Attack, unless you also lost the use of one or both of those.
Ended By
If the ability, trap, or effect description includes specific directions for how the condition is ended, then that is the primary means of ending this condition. In many cases, it is the only way to end the condition. If nothing is specifically listed for ending the condition, then the following methods can be used to end it, instead:
- A single ability lost due to Essence suppression can be regained via the Restoration spell.
- All abilities lost due to essence suppression can be regained via either Restoration, Greater (Spell), Wish (Spell), or Miracle (Spell).
- Unless otherwise cured, all points of essence suppression you have sustained are recovered at the end of the encounter.
