Demolition Charge (Discovery)
Ability Type: Su
Prerequisites: -
Benefit: When the alchemist creates a bomb, they can choose to have it deal siege damage to an object as if by a sunder combat maneuver, instead of dealing normal damage. If the object they are targeting is wielded or worn by an enemy creature, the alchemist rolls a bailiwick skill check (Reason) versus the target's Maneuver Defense. If the check equals or exceeds this target DC, the object takes 1 point of durability damage, plus another point per 5 by which the alchemist's skill check result exceeds the target DC. Any object reduced to a durability of 0 or less becomes broken.
If the target object is unattended, the DC to break the object is based on the object itself. See the Breaking Objects page for details.
Only a single object can be targeted with a demolition charge bomb, and no splash damage occurs with bombs modified by this discovery. Bombs using this discovery are treated as having the Sunder weapon quality, meaning they are capable of inflicting siege damage against any objects, including objects made from, or reinforced with, stone or metal.
Note: This is a 'bomb modifier' discovery, and may not be combined with any other 'bomb modifier' discoveries, until the alchemist learns the Eureka Bombs class feature at level 17.
