Description

Brewing this poultice is long and involved, and activating it for use is likewise long. The holder of the poultice must mix in a tiny bit of astrally exposed material, then mix and mix and mix.... Once the poultice is finally ready, the holder divides the poultice in half. One half they eat, and the power suffuses into their mind's eye. The other half is smeared and worked into their immediate surroundings, where the poultice soaks in and disappears.
Once completed, the place the holder anointed is now visible to them as a point of light in their field of vision, no matter how far they travel, a shining beacon to guide them to return, a Guiding Star.
Once the Star is formed, you can see it, shining behind walls and clouds and mountains, an utter fixed point, that always leads to the place where you ritually used the poultice. Nothing can block the seeing of the star, because it is inside your mind.
For the remaining duration of the poultice's effect you can always, as a standard action, determine your approximate distance from that area as well as the direction you must travel in order to reach it. You cannot determine the location of the area if you are on a different plane. The area counts as "very familiar" for the purposes of Teleport (Sorcerer/Wizard Spell) or similar spells. You can only attune yourself to one location at a time. If you use the poultice at another spot you lose the ability to locate your original area.
For as long as the poultice persists, you may take 20 on one Survival skill roll per day, and you regain twice as many hit points for a night of rest.
