Healing Bomb (Discovery)
Ability Type: Su
Prerequisites: -
Benefit: When the alchemist creates a bomb, they can choose to have it heal damage instead of inflicting it. Creating a healing bomb requires the alchemist to expend an extract or a potion containing a cure spell, as well as a daily bomb use. A creature that takes a direct hit from a healing bomb is healed as if they had imbibed the infusion or potion used to create the bomb. Creatures in the area of effect who are not the direct target are healed for half of the amount that the direct target is healed. A healing bomb damages undead creatures instead of healing them.
If the alchemist with this discovery also has the appropriate infusion discovery for the extract level being used (i.e. Lesser Infusion (Discovery), Greater Infusion (Discovery), Major Infusion (Discovery), Perfect Infusion (Discovery), or the 18th level grand discovery Persistent Spark) then, instead of resolving the healing bomb as described above, they roll a separate ranged touch attack against each creature in the desired area of effect of the bomb, and if they hit, that creature is healed the full amount. If they miss, the creature is healed half the amount. In this case, the bomb cannot scatter on a miss against the primary target (since there isn't really a primary target).
Note: This is a 'bomb modifier' discovery, and may not be combined with any other 'bomb modifier' discoveries, until the alchemist learns the Eureka Bombs class feature at level 17.
