Casting
- Casting Time: True Dweomers require a Full-Round Action to cast normally.
- You may optionally roll a Caster Check to attempt to Fast Cast this True Dweomer as a Standard Action.
- If your roll equals or exceeds a DC of 59, you Fast Cast it as a Standard Action.
- If your roll is a non-1 result between 49 and 58, you cast it as a Full-Round Action, as normal.
- If your roll is less than 49, or you roll a natural 1 on the die, the spell is cast at half damage, treated as though all targets succeeded on their saving throws, or it deals only half its effect.
- True Dweomers can be cast as rituals, requiring a 1 hour casting time. The area of effect or number of targets is multiplied by 10. The range of the spell is doubled if it is longer than Touch.

Description
You concentrate upon a bit of lightning-struck sand, the wild power of the storm trapped in the rocky grasp of stone. As you hiss and growl and snap out the harsh sounds of this mighty Great Work, the fulgurite glows red-hot, then eye-shattering blue-white, and with a massive rumbling crack, you strike an area with a combination of avalanche and lightning bolt.
Choose a square with in range as defined above, to which you have line of sight and line of effect. A massive tide of lightning-shot sand pours from nothingness and inundates an 11x11x11 space centered on that square. All targets caught wholly or partly in that space suffer (Strata 3 damage): 1d6+9 points of damage per character level (max 35d6+315 at character level 35) of lightning (energy, common) damage, and you may Slide any or all of the targets as you wish, a distance of 1 square per Tier of Spellcaster you possess. A saving throw made as defined above reduces the damage and the Slide by half, round down.
In addition, once the damage is assessed and all Slides are resolved, you may choose up to 1 unblocked, unoccupied square within the area of effect per Tier of Spellcaster you possess, and declare that those squares are now Impeded terrain due to a mound of soft, electrically-charged sand that is clinging statically to everything there. Each such square must be adjacent to a solid surface, although that surface does not have to be horizontal. Generally, any surface fit for Walk or Climb movement may be affected. The Impeded squares persist until the end of your next turn.
