Adept's Wand of Quickening
CL 12 Magic Wand • Moderate Enchantment
- Cost: 30,000 gp
- Weight: 0.5 lbs.
- Family: Wand of Quickening
A wand of quickening is a carefully carved length of willow, approximately 10 inches long. It is springy and whip-like, but also carved to resemble a fine lacework of wood, rather than a solid length. It is set with several small tiger's eye gemstones, and features a grip made of spruce.
Wands of quickening are favored among combat wizards, duelists, and other spell casters who value efficiency, or who just want to get combats over with as quickly as possible, so they can go back to doing something that is actually useful.
An adept's wand of quickening grants the wielder the ability to apply the effects of the Quicken Spell (Feat) to any 1st through 3rd level spell, up to twice per encounter, without increasing the spell level of the spell. The wand cannot be used more than once in the same round, however.
The wielder must already possess the Quicken Spell (Feat) to use this wand. Without the feat, the wand is unusable.
This magic item does not require an attunement period, and grants its benefits immediately upon being worn or wielded.
- Creation: Creator (Feat), Bailiwick Check (DC 34 (10 + double CL)), Pale (tier 2) remnant, An item symbolic of the enchantment, 15,000 gp (minus cost of symbolic item).
