Ability Type: Ex

Prerequisites: Rogue 11

Benefit: Once per day, a rogue with this talent can re-roll any skill check they have just failed as a free action, interrupting any negative outcome the original failure may have triggered. Every two experience tiers of the Rogue class the rogue possesses after the first (e.g. at Rogue level 11, Rogue level 21, and Rogue level 31), the rogue may use this talent one additional time per day, to a maximum of four times per day, if the rogue possesses all seven tiers of the Rogue class.

Note that Thoughtful Reexamination can only be used once on any given skill roll; a rogue cannot keep re-rolling the same test multiple times.

In addition, when using Thoughtful Reexamination, a natural result of 16 or higher on the die roll of the skill check is treated as a critical result. A rogue may use Thoughtful Reexamination on a skill check they just rolled that had a natural result of 16+, in order to turn it into a critical (instead of re-rolling it), though this uses up one of the talent's uses for the day.
