Ring of Fading +4
- Cost: 45,000,000 gp
- Weight: .1 lbs.
- Family: Ring of Invisibility
Rings of this sort are almost always simple, unassuming pieces, without flash or radical elements. They seem deliberately designed to be overlooked, simple bands of plain gold, or even made of wood or plain black iron. Such boring bands of metal seem to absorb the light around them, making them difficult to see, the eye simply 'skipping over' them. If there are details or decorations etched into their surface, those details cannot be seen with normal senses. Favored by rogues and assassins, rings of invisibility can be found on nearly any member of society wealthy enough to procure one, as they are extremely useful for any sort of subterfuge.
This grants the wearer all of the benefits and disadvantages of the Incorporeal and Faded states until the effect is removed. They may not activate this power after they have made an attack action or otherwise had their invisible state removed, until the beginning of their next turn.
This Incorporeal and Faded state persists until the end of the encounter in which the power is used, or the wearer makes an attack action, or is subject to a dispel effect, antimagic effect, etc., any of which breaks all effects of this item immediately.
This item may be used out of combat, activation taking a moment of concentration in such a case. When activated out of combat, or even when activated inside a combat, if the Incorporeal and Faded state is not otherwise broken as described above, the wearer may remain Faded until they take a full night's rest. Note that remaining Incorporeal for long periods of time may incur hazards or encounters. The owner of this magic item must wear it continuously for 24 hours to attune it to their aura, and until that time has passed, it provides no benefits to the wearer.
