Effects

- Shaken is nearly always a fear effect. It is possible for a creature to have an attack or ability which inflicts shaken that is not part of a status array and is not fear-based. In these cases, immunity to fear, such as the Paladin's Aura of Courage, would not help. However, any attack using the Cowering, Frightened or Panicked status condition arrays is always considered fear-based.

In many cases, it is the only way to end the condition. If nothing is specifically listed for ending the condition, then the following methods can be used to end it, instead:
Array
- Shaken → Cringing → Frightened
