Condition Severity: Strong
Too late. It's here. And it will feast on your bowels.
Effects
- You suffer a -6 penalty to attack rolls.
- Any action you perform which normally requires a standard action now requires a full attack action (standard action + move action) to complete instead.
- You cannot perform any action which normally requires a full attack action or a full-round action, except to gain a saving throw against Cowering (see below).
- If you attempt to cast any spell or use a spell-like ability, you must make a Caster Check with a -6 penalty (vs. DC 15 + double the spell's level), or the spell fails and is wasted. If you are already making a Caster Check to cast the spell (e.g. to combat cast), you need only make a single Caster Check at a -6 penalty.
- This is a fear condition.
Ended By
If the ability, trap, or effect description includes specific directions for how the condition is ended, then that is the primary means of ending this condition. In many cases, it is the only way to end the condition. If nothing is specifically listed for ending the condition, then the following methods can be used to end it, instead:
- You may take a full-round action to make a saving throw against the Cowering condition. The DC for this saving throw is the same DC as the original effect. If successful, the condition immediately ends.
- If at any point you are at least 60 feet away from the creature which inflicted the Cowering condition on you, the condition immediately ends.
- If the creature which inflicted Cowering on you is slain, the condition immediately ends.
- If not cleared, Cowering automatically ends at the end of the encounter.
